Qualifications: BSc Psychology, Master’s Degree in Couple and Family Therapy

Melanie is a registered psychologist with a degree in Psychology from Sydney University and a Master’s Degree in Couple and Family Therapy from University of NSW. With over 30 years of experience, she has worked with individuals, couples, children, and families.

Known for her warmth and insight, Melanie has a unique ability to meet clients exactly where they are, understanding their needs and providing the support required. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and a wide range of mental health issues. Melanie has a personal interest and recent trainings in Neurodiversity and the aspects that relate to childhood development, forming successful adult relationships and creating thriving families.

Melanie has received advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, Families, and Individuals. She is also Level 3 Gottman trained and has training in Circle of Security/Attachment-Focused work with parents and families, along with expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR, and various other modalities.

With extensive experience working in trauma environments, medical facilities, and not-for-profit organisations like Relationships Australia, Melanie is often engaged by prominent Australian Public Service departments. She also works with couples dealing with challenges arising from the professional demands of their careers.

When she’s not working, Melanie can be found outdoors walking her Aussie Shepard, Noah around the lake, trying to keep up with her kids skiing down a snowy mountain, camping by a beach or enjoying live music with her friends.
